Currently celebrating their 15th year, the award-winning Cheer LA is a dedicated group of volunteers seeking to promote spirit, unity, and diversity in the LGBTQ community through dynamic cheer, dance, and stunt performances. Part of the Pride Cheerleading Association (PCA), Cheer LA and our sister teams work to raise funds for local charities at each performance. We call this the Cheer for Life program. Through the generous donations of spectators, Cheer LA has raised over $165,000 for HIV/AIDS related charities.

Tryouts are open to all cheerleaders, both men and women (18+) from all experience levels, who are committed to charity.

For those who are interested in trying out, Mandatory Clinics will be held on August 2 and August 9 at the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (8450 Higuera St., Culver City, CA 90232) starting at 8:00 PM. Enter the gym using the garage style rear door on the east side of the building. 

An Optional Clinic will be held at the West Hollywood Park (647 N San Vicente Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069) on August 14 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Tryouts will begin at 8:00 PM on Aug.16 ​at the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (8450 Higuera St., Culver City, CA 90232).

Please fill out the tryout forms and release waivers at http://bit.ly/CLATryouts before you arrive and bring them with you that day! If possible, try to arrive early to sign in and fill out any additional information needed – just look for the Cheer LA members in their black t-shirts when you arrive! Check-in will be located by the garage style rear door on the east side of the building.

If you will be joining us at tryouts, please be sure to wear CLEAN, WHITE-soled shoes otherwise you will not be allowed on the practice floor. Please wear shorts without pockets and make sure to remove all your jewelry. Thank you!​

Thank you again to all those who came together during LA Pride to help Cheer LAand Cheer San Diego Extreme‬ support the Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN) and our community. Together we raised over $1,180 that will go directly to empower local abused, neglected, and homeless adolescents and help them to become self-sufficient. ‪

Thank you Long Beach for an amazing pride weekend!‪ Cheer LA was joined by fellow Pride Cheerleading Association teams Cheer San Francisco, Cheer Seattle, & Cheer Salt Lake, as well as charitable cheerleaders San Diego Extreme to raise over $2,150 for the Comprehensive AIDS Research and Education Program (C.A.R.E), a local Long Beach organization dedicated to providing programs and services for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through St. Mary Medical Center. All funds stay local!
